A lovely, large apartment very close to the centre of Funchal. There are good transport links with a bus stop right outside which I appreciated.

Gill, who greeted us was delightful and helpful during our 6 week stay.

Breakfast on the balcony each morning was wonderful, where we enjoyed the view of the Magnolia Gardens and the sea beyond.

Yes, there was traffic noise, but you have to accept that in a city. The compensation was lots of excellent restaurants and bars on the doorstep.

A great base for exploring the beautiful island of Madeira.

This is a wonderful apartment - everything you need is there. The kitchen has a wonderful view over the park and down to the sea. However we had to close the bedroom windows at night and wear ear plugs to sleep due to the proximity of roads.

This is a lovely, well equipped apartment, maintained in excellent condition and spotlessly clean with plenty of space for a family with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It is well located with an excellent bus service directly outside the apartment, and for the more energetic, there is a 25 minute walk into the heart of Funchal.

The only minor negative issue is that it is situated on a main road and at times there is some traffic noise, but overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quality apartment.

We have had a wonderful week in this apartment. Jane has provided everything that you could possibly need. The view from the kitchen balcony is amazing and it was a pleasure to prepare breakfast while watching the sun rise and the cruise ships coming into port. We used the other balconies later in the day for afternoon sun. The bus stop right outside the apartment is very useful for getting to the supermarket which is up a steep hill. We decided not to take the bus back and walk back down. It is a fifteen minute walk back down the hill from the supermarket and you get a great view on the way down. The location was great as we were in between the old town and the lido area. It is any easy and interesting walk downhill to the old town and a couple of times we used a taxi to return to the apartment at a cost of five euros. Before we arrived Jane sent lots of very helpful information regarding buses attractions bakeries nearby etc. When we arrived Gill who looks after the apartment was waiting to meet us and show us around. The apartment is very well kept and spotlessly clean. We plan to return to Madeira and would love to stay here again.

John and I decided at the last minute to take a winter break. On contact with Jane ,the owner, she quickly dealt with all our questions and queries. She sent us photos of the building, maps for recommended cafes and restaurants, info on trips, swimming pools and a variety of helpful information. She arranged for Gill to meet us there and she became our helper on the island particularly on an evening when we fused the lights. Gill was invaluable. The flat is lovely and modern with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen was well fitted out with everything we needed. We loved sitting out on the balcony in the kitchen having our breakfast. The TV has loads of channels, many in English, so we could stay in and have a movie night occasionally.

The apartment is close to the city and walkable to all parts. There is a bus stop actually outside the apartment block but we enjoyed the daily walk.

The apartment is right next to a busy road so noise can be an issue and on quite a steep hill but it didn't put us off walking every day.

We had hired a car and spend time exploring the island ourselves but there are plenty of bus trips or private hire trips so it is not essential.

we enjoyed the good location of the apartment being within walking distance of the old town and the newer tourist areas.the bus stop outside the entrance takes you to the large supermarket about two miles away.We found plenty of restaurants and bars locally and were able to book our Island trips from one of the many agents shops in the vicinity. A beautiful and interesting island ---we shall return and hopefully book this comfortable apartment again.

We had a marvellous holiday in Madeira staying in Jane's apartment during January 2018. The apartment is very spacious and would accommodate 6 people easily, though we didn't feel it was too big for just us two. The fact that there are two bathrooms makes life so much easier. There are lovely views to towards the sea from the kitchen balcony which faces south. We enjoyed many breakfasts sitting here watching the boats pass by. The lounge and two larger bedrooms have balconies where we sat later in the afternoon. The kitchen was spacious and very well equipped and it was therefore easy to self cater. The whole apartment was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Jill the apartment manager was really welcoming and helpful. We will certainly stay here again in the near future, as we really did feel that we were at home. And, the two local bakeries within walking distance were amazing.

We really enjoyed our one week stay in this well equipped, spacious apartment. It was a lovely place to relax, having furnished balconies on either side, both with sea views, and very comfortable lounge and dining areas. Inevitably with busy roads around, there is some traffic noise but this was not a problem for us. The apartment is fortunate to have a public garden below it to one side and we felt this was an added bonus, enhancing the sea view from the apartment. It was also great to have two bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped and had various welcome basic supplies in the cupboards. Jane provided us with useful information in advance and we really liked the local bakery and fruit and vegetable shop up the hill from the apartment. We rented a car and found this useful, especially as the island has different micro-climates and we were able to head out to the west and north which tended to have more sun in early June when we were there. We were able to use the parking space available in the apartment car park (recommended for small car only). We walked into the centre of Funchal, this is a pleasant 20 minute walk down the hill and along the main avenue, with several lovely gardens along the way. We didn't use the buses but this would be an option as they stop near the apartment. We ate out at various restaurants in Funchal and the Lido area (at a similar distance from the apartment) and enjoyed the free live street music and fireworks in Funchal during the festival taking place while we were there. The apartment was a great base for exploring this beautiful island and the different areas of Funchal.

This was our third visit to Funchal but our first in an apartment. From the original inquiry Jane was very prompt with her responses, no question went unanswered. The photographs don't do the property justice, it's huge! Light and airy with the bedrooms benefiting from external Venetian blinds so the rooms are very cool in heat of the day.

The furniture and equipment are of an excellent standard with the kitchen and lounge balconies both furnished. The apartment is located on an incline but nothing too drastic. The number 8 bus stops just outside the entrance if coming back from the town or if you get on the same bus it will take you up to the large supermarket Continente.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this amazing apartment to anyone and have Jane's details for any future visits to this wonderful island!

We are a famely from Norway, and we have been on Holiday at Madeira many times now.

This was the first time in this appartmen :-) and not the last.

We liked to stay here. There is a short walk to down town. There is not long way to resturants and shoops, and you can get the most by walking..

There is plenty of room for a famely and our girls liked that they got there ovn bed room..

Al in al, we had a very nice stay in this appartment, and we have already booked it again for the 2016 summer holiday.. :-)

Very enjoyable escape from the uk winter. Funchal lights were on and the town buzzing with visitors from cruise liners and Madeirans . The refurbished sea front is a pleasant walk away. If you detour through Santa Catarina gardens the view over the harbour is spectacular. Food is excellent and plenty of choices not too far away. An island that rewards the explorer.

We booked this apartment for a 2 week stay and it exceeded our expectations. Great location, walking distance to Lido district and downtown Funchal. Bus and cabs right outside if needed. Delightful bakeries up and down the street. Spacious and very clean! and everything you need in one place. The cleaning lady is amazing also. Dealing with the owner John was extremely pleasant and efficient. Would highly recommend this apartment to anyone.

A great spacious apartment, great balconies with fabulous views over the Atlantic, and not too far from the centre or the Lido with plenty of restaurants with delicious food.

The apartment was spotless, everthing we needed was here, including freeview TV if you wanted a quiet night in.

If you need to email the owner John, you receive a quick reply he is very helpful indeed. I would certainly recommend this property to my family and friends,, its a fantastic base, although you do have to be quite fit as it's on a bit of an incline.

We stayed a week at this clean, spacious and modern apartment. It was perfect for our needs, being within walking distance to the centre of Funchal, but not so close as to be claustrophobic. The Lido was in the other direction, about the same distance away.

This first floor apartment has three balconies, leading off four of the rooms, so there was plenty of "outside" space for adults to relax in, with interesting local views and atmosphere. Magnolia Gardens, a minute away, would be a good place for children to play.

The rental price of the apartment represented very good value, and communication to make arrangements beforehand was excellent. We received a warm welcome at the airport, and were shown round the apartment itself upon arrival. If we'd had any questions or issues, they would have been dealt with by the nearby agent in person.

We would definitely like to stay at this apartment again. Little things like having British Freeview television channels was useful to have at the time of a General Election (if you like that sort of thing?!). Being able to leave our luggage at the apartment on our last day was another kind touch.

tout est agréable dans cet appartement qui est bien pensé et aménagé. Tout le nécessaire s'y trouve. Même un garage pour stationner une voiture de location. Literie changé au bout d'une semaine de séjour ainsi que les serviettes de bain.

This Apartment is equipped with everything you need to spend a good time in Madeira. The city Center can be easily reached in a 20 minutes walk or by bus which starts in front of the building.

The street is noisy especially with motorcycles and buses accelerating up the Hill.

To use the Garage it is recommended to have a small car.

Jane always had valuable information about the region for us. Thanks a lot for this!

Haben uns in der Wohnung sehr wohl gefühlt. Sie ist großzügig, gepflegt und gut ausgestattet.

Eigentümerin hat sich im Vorfeld mit Informationen über Anfahrtroute, Veranstaltungen und nahegelegene Restaurants sehr bemüht. Auch die Anbindung an das öffentliche Verkehrsnetz ist sehr gut. Bushaltestelle unmittelbar vor dem Haus.

Einziger gravierender Nachteil ist die -insbesonders nächtens- störende Lärmbelastung durch die vorbeiführende Strasse.

Nous avons passé une très belle semaine à Funchal dans l'appartement de Jane.

C'est un appartement très spacieux, tout confort, très bien équipé pour un excellent rapport qualité/prix. Il est proche du centre ville et du quartier du Lido, tout en étant proche de la voie rapide ce qui nous a permis de découvrir facilement cette superbe île.

Jane nous a fournis des conseils précieux en amont de la préparation du voyage.

Nous recommandons cette location sans hésitation.
